The history of Glowforth Game Studio
Since its foundation in 2008, Glowforth has gone through a few metamorphosis cycles, which has made it into an interesting journey.
The company started in the Netherlands, Amsterdam when a small group of young graduates of a local Art Academy had ideas and ambition to create something unique. Already then first video game concepts where developed that lay foundation for the upcoming years.
Today Glowforth operates from the IT hot-spot in Europe – Tallinn, Estonia. With an experienced international team we are developing video games and online applications for our customers in Europe and in the United States.
Just like in metamorphosis an animal physical development involves a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal’s body structure, you can say Glowforth has gone through something similar.
Back in the 2008 we started off by creating video game and film concepts, then worked in the film and advertising sector. Gradually we shifted our focus to mobile games and from there on also to app and game development for customers in Europe and the United States.
In 2014 we launched a mobile game “Last Inua – An Arctic Adventure” to the iTunes together with our publisher, Creative Mobile. Soon after “Last Inua” was also released on Steam network in collaboration with Wired. Even though Last Inua never reached the heights people thought it would, it was a great journey.
Last Inua provided intellectual stimulation and work for game developers, game designers, visual and sound artists and so on. Thanks to the passion and commitment of all the people who worked with Last Inua, the game won the Dutch Game Awards for the best music and audio design, was nominated for the Best Mobile Game and won the Best Mobile Tablet & Handheld Project award of Game Connection America.
